The advantage of this programming is that it greatly improves the efficiency of machine operation. Moreover, constant line speed programming has very low hardware requirements for equipment. Common CNC lathe models can generally support its operation. Today, we, CNC lathe manufacturers, will explain the basic definition and precautions of constant line speed programming for CNC lathes.
Constant line speed programming refers to using m/min as the unit of rotation speed. The magnitude of linear velocity depends on the workpiece material, tool material, whether coolant is added, and the range of machine speed, and is not related to the size of the workpiece. The first command for constant line speed is G96, but if using G96 alone, the faster the tool moves in the x direction, the higher the speed, and even uncontrollable. Therefore, we often use G50 to set a maximum speed only to limit the maximum speed (angular velocity). If programming with constant speed, it needs to be calculated based on the size of the workpiece. At this point, it is also necessary to first determine what line speed to use.
Firstly, it is necessary to set the minimum and maximum rotational speeds of the spindle. Use G46X-P-the next program segment to program G96S, where the number after S is the constant linear velocity that you want to set. Cancel it with G97S at the end of the program, and note that the number after S represents the spindle speed. The constant line speed G96 is followed by S, which represents the cutting speed of meters per minute. For example, when cutting an outer circle of 100, the rotation speed of S200 should be 200/(01 * 314)=6369 revolutions per minute. 01 is 100 divided by 1000. If there is a section cutting, G50 should be added. Otherwise, when cutting to X0, G97 is the maximum rotation speed of the bed directly. Both of these are lateral rotation speeds.
It is mainly used for cutting inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of shaft or disc parts, inner and outer conical surfaces with arbitrary cone angles, complex rotating inner and outer surfaces, and cylindrical and conical threads. It can also perform cutting, drilling, expanding, reaming, and boring. Numerical control machine tools are processed according to pre programmed programs. Machine tool spindle refers to the axis on the machine tool that drives the workpiece or tool to rotate. The main shaft components are usually composed of a main shaft, bearings, and transmission parts (gears or pulleys). The spindle is the most common component in machines, mainly composed of internal and external cylindrical surface threaded splines and transverse holes. The function of the spindle is to serve as the actuator of the lathe, mainly supporting the transmission components and transmitting torque.
The above is the basic definition and precautions of constant line speed programming for CNC lathes. We hope that the above explanation can be helpful for everyone when using constant line speed programming for CNC lathes in the future.
