Before running a CNC lathe, we usually need to perform a tool alignment operation. This is mainly because the tool is installed in the appropriate position, which can greatly improve the operating efficiency and also help improve the accuracy of the processed workpiece. The tool alignment operation is generally divided into tool installation and tool testing after alignment. Today, our CNC lathe manufacturer will explain the basic steps of tool alignment operation for CNC lathes.
Firstly, determine the machining origin of the part to establish an accurate machining coordinate system, while considering the influence of different tool sizes on machining. General tool alignment refers to manual tool alignment using relative position detection on a machine tool. The following is an example of Z-direction knife alignment to illustrate the knife alignment method. After installing the tool, first move the tool to manually cut the right end face of the workpiece, and then retract the tool in the X direction to align the right end face. 1. Turn on the main switch of the electrical cabinet of the CNC lathe. 2. Press the "System Start" button on the machine panel to turn on the power. The display screen will change from black to text, and the power indicator light will turn on. 3. Press the 'emergency stop button' to lift it up. 4. Press the 'Return to Zero' key in the operation selection. After the flat end face, do not move the cutting tool in the Z direction before entering the numerical value. After cutting the outer circle, do not move the cutting tool in the X direction before entering the numerical value. If cutting, simply press the tool against the end face in the Z direction and enter 0000. Do not cut the end face again. You can try cutting and measuring again in the X direction. General tool alignment refers to manual tool alignment using relative position detection on a machine tool. The following is an example of Z-direction knife alignment to illustrate the knife alignment method. After installing the tool, move it first.
The operation steps for trial cutting and tool alignment: (1) Select the manual operation mode of the machine tool; (2) Start the spindle, test cutting the outer circle of the workpiece, and keep it stationary in the X direction; (3) Stop the spindle and measure the outer diameter value of the workpiece; (4) Select the MDI operation mode of the machine tool; (5) Press' offsetsi '. The CNC lathe, in the x-axis direction, the tool alignment steps for the Huazhong system are generally divided into two steps: 1. For the Z direction, use a tool to cut a length of the material, call up the tool deviation table in the CNC system, and enter the value 0000 (i.e. the Z-axis origin of the workpiece coordinate system is on the right end face of the workpiece. (Note that after entering the value, do not move the tool in the Z direction) 2. For the X direction. The X-direction adopts fixed-point tool alignment, and if there is a place for testing the outer circle, you can also choose to test the tool alignment; Z-direction tool alignment, based on the length of the thread programmed in the program, select the tip or left end face of the thread cutter for tool alignment; Attention: Regardless of which method is used for the Z direction, the thread should be machined outside the relief groove. Assuming the rotation center of the right end face of the workpiece.
The above are the basic steps of tool setting operation for CNC lathes. We hope that the above explanation can be helpful for everyone when using CNC lathes in the future.
